Getting closer to zero

Encouraging more citizens to practice the 5Rs.

Taiji was hired to design a public education campaign to get residents and businesses to take action and help the Cowichan region get even closer to Zero Waste.

In 2002, the Cowichan Valley Regional District adopted a Zero Waste goal. In the decade that followed, they put in place some of the best waste diversion infrastructure in the province and achieved commendable recycling and diversion rates. We were engaged to try to help the region get even closer to their goal. We built a campaign and website that contained a mix of engaging statistics, resources and multi-media, as well as videos and ads that showcased local “Zero Heroes”. The campaign proved popular and was recently expanded to include the Cowichan Recyclopedia (an online recycling directory).
