My horoscope says today is a “suitable day for unpleasant but necessary chores”. A fitting recommendation in light of Google’s much-discussed mobile friendly update.
If your website is not yet mobile-friendly, now’s the time to tackle this “necessary chore” and the Taiji team can quickly help you with this transition.
April 21, 2015 has been called “mobilegeddon” because non-responsive websites will now start to rank lower in Google’s search engine.
This change from Google makes sense: Internet use from mobile devices has overtaken desktop traffic, with some pegging mobile usage as high as 70%.
Not sure if your site is mobile friendly? Google has created an easy to use testing tool.
To gauge the impact of this change on your website, start by considering the amount of visits driven by a Google search, versus users who simply type your URL.
Websites that have a significant e-commerce component are particularly susceptible to this update, especially if your competitors are already responsive.
